Last night, as we were reading books before bed, my son said "Mommy, I love you" for the first time.
Before you assume that my 3 year old is a cold hearted kid, understand that he has actually said the words "I love you" before, but never on his own...out of the blue...sweetly. Usually he'll say "I love you too" after being told that he is loved or when requested to do so(ex: WA, tell Grandma and Grandpa you love them).
I have to say the feeling I had right after the unsolicited "I love you" is just about the best thing I've ever experienced. Ever. Man that was good.
